Just a few years ago , we Fabulafricanas were not really present in the high end shoe line game except for Togolese shoe designer Estelle Yomeda. Today the industry can count on Afua Dabanka. This shoealcoholic grew up in Germany where she started her career in finance. A few years ago she decided to go after her passion and get her Mosaique ‘on . Her shoes are manifactured in Italia home to great shoe makers & just like Christian Loubouttin had its red soles, Mosaique ‘s symbolic Aya sign which represents perseverance despite adversity is engraved on the sole of each shoe. The line is diverse, kitten heels a la FLOTUS, oxford shoes, suede sandals, glamorous pumps, sexy boots in all kinds of colorful tones. Coming back from a business background, Afua def’ understands the promotion work that involves a successful venture. She travelled back to Ghana this past june …

My cousin gave me the highest honor of naming me his « ndieke » , let me explain in senegalese tradition when a man gets married,he chooses two woman ( usually in agreement with his mother) in both his maternal and paternal family to represent him at the bride’s house. This time I was bestowed upon this huge honor, was’nt sure I would be able to live up to it but it went well, of course i have to share with you the crispy details .So I was explained that I had to give to Fity the bride a symbolic sum of money, a golden ring & bed linen for housing ( that’s how it usually goes ) After paying my respect to my cousin Tapha and his mum, i made my way with my friend Yacine at the bides house, ohhh let me rewind … I made my way with yacine & …

So I’ve wanted to share about Zahara’s music ever since I heard her song “Lolliwe” tiens you may have heard it on my playlist. Her voice is gorgeous , her artistry pure and not tainted yet ..Because you know WE the public “make” the artists and sometimes by wanting more and more we destroy them and their initial innocent love for their own work. As of now Zahara is enjoying her new fame indeed she was just happy singing at various little gigs in London before being discovered by local south African management team. With her fro, her sense of fashion, playing her guitar a la India Arie, her conscious lyrics she brought a sense of fresh air on the Southie musical scene. She comes from a modest Christian family of 6 and when her parents couldn’t afford to pay her studies she turned to music ..and as her success showed …

Shea butter, come on is there something better? I beg to differ , my daily beauty routine usually includes a bit of shea butter. Myriam Moma an architecture graduate student, model and entrepreneur created her skincare line in 2006 & since then she’s been working hard developing and promoting Yamerra. You can find everything face, hair and skin related, some of the products I would be interested in trying are the facial serum (shea butter+Vitamins A & E), body butters (mango, lemongrass, tangerine grapefruit, jasmine). I was checking out her blog where the Tanzanian -Nigerian sister gives good health tips, I picked up a few:) Myriam also sells under Yamerra kanga fabric (tanzanian fabric) which look comfortable and beautiful. From a business point of view I dig the fact that she promotes her line throughout artisan craft trade shows throughout the country, she is def’ “focused on her focus” to quote …

Excited , excited just can’t wait for the opening ceremony this July 27th , are you going to tune in? It’s so nice to see the athletes beaming with pride in their olympic atires greeting the world, aware that they are representing the hope of their people.I guess that’s what Rahamatou Drame the Malian Olympic Team Ambassador will be feeling on saturday. I guess that’s the disapointment that American/Sierra Leonan track star Jeneba Tarmoh was feeling during that unfortunate & controversial ordeal whic occured a few back resulting in her withdrawing officially from the 100m Olympic game. The pride, I guess that’s what Didier Drogba, Philips Idowu & Fabrice Muamba felt as they were carrying the torch throughout the streets of London. The joy I guess that’s what our kenyan, ethiopian , maroccan & eritrean people will feel as their watch their fierce long distance runners fight for a medal (which …

Good morning you guyz, hope all is great. The holy month of Ramadan started almost a week ago. I read this Surah this morning and felt that whether we are Budhist, Christians, Muslims we all could get something out of it ..I certainly did.Sometimes we do get lost in the quest of external approval, the quest of “yes he or she is badd” …These few lines def’ resonated inside of me and I’ll try to remenber that during my day.Wishing you a wonderful and productive day, Happy Wednesday ….Let’s Go!! With the Name of Allah,The Most Gracioux, the Ever Merciful.I commence to read Surah Al Takathur.1-Mankind your vying with one another to excel in multiplying wordly possesions diverts you from God and the true values of life.2 -Until on your death you embrace the graves.3 – Nay, you should never hanker after wordly gains, power and position, you shall come to …
