Yaye Marie Ba’s unique blog aims to unite women from every corner of Africa and the diaspora. « We are rich with beautiful differences but, just like our 10 fingers, we areunited ; we are all from Africa », she says. The US university graduate says ignorance and curiosity are what inspired her to begin her blog. She documents the present and future lives of African women, setting them apart from their past ang giving them the opportunity to gain confidence from each other, creating a sense of community. She coined the term « fabulafricana » to describe her ideal perception for the modern African woman,who is, she is, « a young woman who has goals ; who falls down sometimes but always gets back up ». Ba now lives in Dakar, Senegal, and her blog updates readers on the rise of African women in music, theatre and photography. Recent posts have included Angelique Kidjo and Racky Diack. …
